Golf Tournament - August 4, 2011
George Neill and Fred McNeill head up the Golf Tournament. Their
hard work each year prove that they are a pair of duffers in
rough.
Review of 2011 tournament held on August 4, 2011
The 22nd annual NHWPCA Golf Tournament was held on August 4th at
the historical Beaver Meadow Golf Course in Concord. The
Association is proud to support the City of Concord's 115 year old
municipal course, the oldest 18-hole course in the State. In
return, the Association was treated to a beautifully manicured
course, exceptional services from all their hardworking staff, and a
delicious meal both before and after our tournament.
Seventy six wastewater professionals descended on the course for
a great day of golf, laughs, and fellowship. It was a beautiful day
as the sun shined over 19 teams battling it out over 18 challenging
holes. At the end of the day CDM's team pulled away with a great
round of 8 under par to claim first place. Awards
were also presented to the second and third place teams along
with closet-to-the-pin, longest drive, and straightest drive.
A very special thank you to our sponsors and participants this
year. With the sluggish economy, coupled with so many other
competing professional outings/meetings, we greatly appreciate our
sponsors and participants continued support. Through the generosity
of our sponsors we were able to provide FootJoy shoe bags to all
participants as well as several high quality prizes that were
raffled off to lucky winners. In addition, we had a putting contest
and a special raffle that included tickets to the New England
Patriots and Stanley Cup Champion Boston Bruins. As a result of
our putting contest and special raffle, we were able to make
a generous contribution to NHWPCA's Operations Challenge Team - The
Seacoast Sewer Snakes. We will be returning to the historic Beaver
Meadows Golf Course next year for our 23rd annual golf tournament on
Thursday August 2, 2012, we look forward to seeing you there.
Lastly, we would like to once again thank our sponsors listed below
for their extremely generous support of our tournament. They are
the ones that make the tournament such a huge success.
