Legislative Breakfast
The Legislative Breakfast was an excellent event with over 40
legislators in attendance. The presentations were informative
and well done. Much thanks to outreach by NHWPCA members who
called their legislators and invited them to come. Alwynne
Hellfach reached all the legislators in Strafford and most
attended!
Presentations are available by request by sending an email to:
nhwpca@yahoo.com. In the near future they
will be made available here.
Tours of POTWs were held around the state and had very
little attendance- however, it is important to keep this offer
open to our elected officials.
About the Legislative Breakfast
THE NHWPCA sponsors a Legislative Breakfast every other year to
introduce the House and Senate to our organization and the issues
facing New Hampshire communities regarding wastewater management.
This effort is headed up the members of the NHWPCA's
Legislative Committee.
The breakfast is intended to bring wastewater professionals and
state legislators together to provide an informative setting for
learning about wastewater and biosolids issues. The focus for the
2009 presentation will be on the aging WWTF infrastructure and
funding needs, and biosolids and septage issues. NHWPCA members are
encouraged to participate and invite their local Representatives and Senators.
Scheduled Speakers for 2009:
Mike Sullivan, NHWPCA President
Senator Margaret Wood Hassan, Sponsor of the Legislative Breakfast
